This is a tribute to the always adorable and engaging Atlantic Puffin. As with so many sea birds, their abundance has been threatened by toxins and over hunting in the past. Perhaps these puffins are sharing secrets about where to find the best little schools of fish for their next meal...or something more profound. It remains "a secret"!
Dyes are used for the painting and become an integral part of the silk fabric after it is steam set for permanency. Painting on silk is an ancient art form first practiced by the Chinese thousands of years ago on their venerable silk fabrics...a practice I am proud to carry on today.
The original artwork has been SOLD. But prints and a variety of other home goods with this image are available here at .
